MENQ ENQ MER SARERE (WE ARE OUR MOUNTAINS), which borrows its name from a film directed by Henrik Malian in 1969, is a multimedia celebration of Armenian identity in the shape of a rebus. References include Paradjanov, Tarkovsky, Pirosmani, Dada, Magritte.

Published to embody Armenian memory, translating a universal, national, communal reading of into a familial, and individual capacity.

Constructed as an exquisite corpse, our works respond to each other with numerous references and inspirations. Collages, photographs, poems (bilingual French/English) that rethink memory - as something intrinsic and ever-lasting, ‘a memory for which no recollection is necessary’. The project being to be able to show Armenian culture through a modern and creative lens, bridging traditional references and contemporary visuals.
